TECHNICAL CONTEXT

The bar is not the specification. The result is.

Doré is a semi-refined alloy whose gold and silver content varies by lot. A visual claim, handheld reading or stated karat is never the final commercial basis. Each offered lot is identified, weighed, sampled and reconciled against an agreed independent result.

Indicative X-ray fluorescence can support screening and planning. Final payable metal may be established by representative sampling and fire assay, with an instrumental finish where the appointed laboratory and contract require it. Laboratory, split-sample procedure, tolerances and umpire mechanism are fixed for that transaction.

  2. 02

    Screen

Review weight and indicative XRF readings for material inconsistency.

  3. 03

    Sample & assay

Use the contractually agreed representative sampling and independent assay protocol.

  4. 04

    Reconcile & settle

Calculate payable content only after accepted results and resolve variance under the contract.

DIRECT TECHNICAL ANSWERS

Buyer FAQs

What purity is the gold doré?

No fixed purity is advertised. Fineness varies by lot and is established by the independent assay procedure agreed in the contract.

Is XRF enough to price a gold lot?

XRF is useful for rapid, non-destructive screening, but surface readings may not represent the whole bar. Commercial settlement follows the agreed representative assay.

What if buyer and seller assay results differ?

The contract can define split samples, a permitted difference and an independent umpire assay. Those terms and any laboratory appointment are transaction-specific.

Is the live XAU ticker the purchase price?

No. It is an indicative market reference. A lot quotation depends on accepted assay results, payable content, charges, timing and contract terms.
